Cycling Without Age in North Idaho

Cycling Without Age North Idaho Founder Dave Brown

“We learned about Cycling Without Age at a cycling themed movie festival inNew Zealand while traveling there in 2025. After seeing the smiles from those folks on the rides, we knew right away that this was something we wanted to bring to North Idaho.

We are just getting started and hope to build support and interest for the benefit of our community.”

Cycling Without Age is a movement started in 2012 by Ole Kassow in Denmark.

Ole wanted to help his neighbors at the local nursing home get back on their bicycles, but he had to find a solution to their limited mobility. The answer was a trishaw and he started offering free bike rides to the residents of Kærbo nursing home. Ole grew up with a father who used a wheelchair so he knew first hand what the lack of mobility lead to in terms of stigma and isolation.
